ALPA Congratulates Airbus on A350 XWB Certification

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) issued the following statement today in response to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) certification of the Airbus A350 XWB.

“The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) congratulates Airbus on achieving a major milestone with the certification of the A350 XWB by both the Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency. The new airliner offers safety, operating, and efficiency gains that will benefit airline passengers, flight crews, and the industry for years to come.

“A number of airlines with ALPA-represented flight crews have already placed A350 XWB orders. Our members at those carriers and others that may place future orders look forward to conducting flight operations from the A350 XWB’s updated flight deck.

“Our union values our decades-strong relationship with Airbus, the FAA, and the EASA and we will continue efforts to deliver on our shared commitment to advancing innovative aircraft design and the highest standards of aviation safety.”
