Hundreds of FedEx Pilots Participate in Informational Picketing

MEMPHIS, Tenn.— In a strong show of support of their union Negotiating Committee, hundreds of FedEx pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), participated in informational picketing on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. With a turnout of more than 800 pilots in Anchorage, Los Angeles and Memphis, this demonstration was a clear sign that the pilots are frustrated over the fact that contract negotiations have not concluded.

“Day in and day out, our pilots contribute to the success of FedEx and it is time for management to recognize our contribution and conclude negotiations,” said MEC Chairman Captain Scott Stratton. “We stood yesterday as a collective group with one message—Contract Now, It’s Time.”

Captain Stratton has now asked the pilots to continue their engagement in this process. “Everyone will be closely watching the next few weeks at the bargaining table. We sincerely hope that FedEx management got the meaning of Contract Now, It’s Time.”

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the world’s largest pilot union, representing more than 51,000 pilots at 31 airlines in the United States and Canada. Visit the ALPA website at www.alpa.org.
