Delta Air Lines Pilots' Union Pens Joint Protocol Letter with AeroMexico Pilots

WASHINGTON, DC—The Delta and AeroMexico pilots, as represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA) and the Asociación Sindical de Pilotos Aviadores (ASPA), entered into a joint protocol.

The pilot unions recognize that the airline industry in general, and our airlines in particular, are faced with a dynamic airline environment. As such, the respective airlines desire to maximize the potential of their relationship with each other by entering into an advanced code share and equity investment by Delta Air Lines. This combination may have significant long-term effects on pilots represented by ALPA and ASPA.

The protocol's basic objectives include:

The Delta MEC and AeroMexico ASPA believe that mutual cooperation and unity of purpose are essential to protect their mutual professional interests in relation to the AeroMexico/Delta relationship.  To further their mutual goals, the unions committed to a timely exchange of information, development of a common strategy and additional protocols, and to use all appropriate lawful actions to protect their members' contractual rights and professional interests.

Leadership from the Delta chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association and the Asociación Sindical de Pilotos Aviadores sign their joint pilot protocol agreement.
