Chairman of Delta Pilots’ Union Expresses Appreciation to Congress

ATLANTA, GA ---- Capt. Charles S. Giambusso, Chairman of the Delta Master Executive Council, a unit of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) that represents Delta’s 10,000 pilots, released the following statement today in response to Congressional passage of the Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act:

"On behalf of the Delta Air Lines pilots, I want to join our Chairman of Board and Chief Executive Officer Leo Mullin in expressing appreciation to Congress for passing the Air Line Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act. As the airline industry struggles to recover from the catastrophic events of September 11, federal assistance will help us ensure that U.S. airlines are not casualties of these tragic acts of terrorism. Thousands of airline workers across the country now face uncertain futures, and this aid package will help mitigate job losses until air travel returns to normal levels. ALPA will continue to work tirelessly with government and airline officials to ensure security measures are enhanced for the benefit of airline employees and the traveling public."
