ALPA Welcomes New Assistant Director of Representation
WASHINGTON, D.C.---The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), is pleased to announce that Stephen Crable will be joining its Representation Department as Assistant Director of Representation, effective March 11, 2002.
Crable comes to ALPA from the National Mediation Board (NMB), where for the past six years he served as the Board’s chief of staff, responsible for mediating collective bargaining agreements and investigating representation disputes in the airline and railroad industries. Crable is credited with upgrading NMB staff and improving NMB services during his tenure at the agency. Before joining the NMB in 1995, Crable served for seven years as an arbitrator and mediator, specialized in airline labor disputes and attained membership in the National Academy of Arbitrators. In his new role with ALPA, Crable will work with ALPA pilot negotiating teams and will interface directly with airline managements and the NMB to advocate the interests of professional airline pilots.
Crable has over 26 years of varied experience in labor law and labor relations, including work in litigation, collective bargaining, mediation and arbitration and appointments as a circuit court special master. He holds a bachelor of science degree (with honors) from Miami University, and a Juris Doctor from the Washington University School of Law.
