FT. WORTH, TX – The pilots and flight attendants of American Eagle Airlines and American Airlines will conduct a Unity March at the annual meeting of AMR shareholders on Wednesday, May 15, between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. The informational picketing will be held adjacent to the American Airlines Training and Conference Center near DFW International Airport. Unions represented on the picket line include: Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), representing American Eagle pilots; Allied Pilots Association (APA), representing American Airlines pilots; Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), representing American Eagle flight attendants; Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) representing American Airlines flight attendants; and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) who are organizing the passenger service professionals of American Airlines and American Eagle.

"It’s time to inform AMR management that it needs to start cooperating with all of its unions, instead of working against us. That is why we’ll be marching shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow union members," said Capt. Jim Higgins, chairman of the ALPA American Eagle Master Executive Council. "Our unity as ‘All American’ employees is extremely important to us as professional flight crews, and we feel management should recognize us as such and respect the contribution we make as AMR employees," Higgins added.

"We are concerned about the future of our company; the security of our families is tied to a successful, growing airline with a unified, motivated workforce. We feel that our management’s harsh interaction with its unionized employees and its pitting one employee group against another jeopardize that goal," Higgins said.

Where: American Airlines Training and Conference Center — Main Gate, 4501 Highway 360, Ft. Worth, Texas. The Media Center will be on the Hwy 360 Service Road inside the traffic cones near the main entrance.

When: Wednesday, May 15, 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
