ALPA Atlas Air Cargo Crewmembers Elect Officers

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The uniformed crewmembers of the Atlas Air Cargo unit of the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) re-elected Captain David Bourne and First Officer John Caputo, and elected Flight Engineer Gregory Bourgault as their status representatives, effective March 1.

For a status representative election, each eligible crewmember may vote for each status representative. Captain Bourne received 97 percent of the votes, and First Officer Caputo and Flight Engineer Bourgault received a majority of the votes.

Captain Bourne is an 8-year veteran of Atlas and presently serves as the Master Executive Council chairman of the Atlas unit as well as vice-chairman for ALPA’s President’s Committee on Cargo. He previously flew for the AFL-CIO. Prior to his election in 2001, he served as the vice-chairman of the Atlas unit’s Strategic Preparedness/Strike Planning and Communications Committees. First Officer Caputo serves as the current vice-chairman of the Atlas unit. He is a 4-year veteran of Atlas and a veteran of Eastern Airlines where he was a Local Executive Council officer. Prior to his election in 2001, he was the chairman of the Atlas unit’s Strategic Preparedness/Strike Planning and Communications Committees.

In the near future, the crewmembers will vote again on which positions on the Master Executive Council these officers will hold.
